Hello and welcome to Astronomy! While you are in this classroom, you will be respectful and courtious of your fellow students. You will also pay attention to where you are walking so that you do not block anyone else's telescopes or bump into them. These classes are held late at night obviously, so blankets to keep warm, hot chocolate or cold soda, and of course your telescopes are provided for you to keep you happy while you are in the class. Now my class and all the classes that I teach work off the same style. I see no reason to change it from class to class. The lesson will consist of a Lecture and information on the blackboard. Both are equally important. You will then have homework from that lesson. Sometimes it will consist of two parts also. A written and a practical. You will submit your homework to me via an owl (personal message) here. Title your homework message with Astro HW L1 (L stands for Lesson and 1 stands for the lesson number. In lesson 2 you will have it titled Astro HW L2. So on and so forth. ) You will begin your homework with your name and other information.
Example:
Astro HW L1
Emily
Gryffindor
First Year
Written:

Practical:

Please be sure to follow that style when writing your homework. IF your homework needs to be submitted in more than one message, please put the number of the message in ()'s in the title. It should look like this: Astro HW L1 (1) ; Astro HW L1 (2) That way I am sure to read them in the correct order.
Now on to grades. There are 6 grades possible. They are as follows:
O = outstanding
E = Exceeds Expectations
A = Acceptable
P = Poor
D = Dreadful
T = Troll
Here is the grade scale and how you can earn those grades.
IF you have an argument about the grade that you received please do not argue, simply to to my office and you can be sure to talk to me there in a calm manner. Be prepared to possibly be asked to re-do the homework. IF you are not happy with the work you have done and feel that you can do better, we will have a day each term that you can re-submit a better homework on a previous lesson and attempt to get a better grade.
